GuestLogix expands Mobile Virtual Store

GuestLogix, a provider of on-board systems to the airline industry, has expanded its Mobile Virtual Store solution to support in-flight connectivity, states FOX Business.

When processing passenger transactions using GuestLogix's technology platform, operators can securely use their connection of choice, including the new in-flight broadband services from Air Cell and Row 44, , cellular, infrared, Bluetooth and RFID.

"GuestLogix is committed to ensuring that our Mobile Virtual Store platform is compatible with the latest state-of-the-art connectivity options," said Tom Douramakos, president and CEO at GuestLogix.

One Step CEO named finalist

One Step Retail Solutions, the provider of retail point-of-sale software systems, has had its founder and CEO, Scott Kreisberg, named a finalist in the best executive category of the 2008 American Business Awards, reports PR Web.

More than 2 600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories.

According to Kevin McAdam, One Step's vice-president of sales, "Scott has been the pulse of the company and guides its future, with the philosophy to exchange in abundance and deliver what is promised. He makes the employees feel valuable, fostering a team atmosphere and high morale."

Retail IT Budget Study under way

Chief information officers from all retail segments are invited to participate in the fifth annual Retail IT Budget Study, conducted by NRF's CIO Council and AMR Research, says SmartBrief.

Information collected includes specific budgeting details in retail technology across five primary categories: operating expenses, capital expenditures, application investments, technology infrastructure spending and labour costs.

Study participants will receive full access to the report and a custom-cut of the data comparing their company's budget data against industry averages. The deadline to participate in the study is 15 June.
