Guitar Hero comes to PC
Aspyr Media has revealed it is developing Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for PC and Macintosh, reports Eurogamer.
"Providing the option for our fans to play Guitar Hero at their desk or on a laptop on the go is incredibly exciting," said Dusty Welch, head of publishing at RedOctane.
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will be available on PC and Mac along with the other versions later this year.
WinAmp beta on console
Nullsoft's WinAmp media player has long been a staple audio playback application for PC platforms, and soon it will officially support major game consoles, reports Neoseeker.
Local access to media files stored on a host PC has always been possible on the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360, but the upcoming WinAmp Remote (currently in beta) will enable remote access from a PS3 or Wii, or mobile phone.
The PS3 and Wii will need access to the Internet, and WinAmp Remote will allow users of both platforms to use the proprietary console Web browsers and controllers to stream video and audio from their own WinAmp collection or a friend's.
Wii fitness ups profile
Nintendo expects its new fitness game involving a "balance mat" and virtual yoga could deliver a "killer blow" in the Japanese company's effort to dominate the world of next-generation consoles, reports Times Online.
According to sources close to the company, hopes are high that the title Wii Fit will play a central role in attracting 20- to 40-year-old women - a group long since given up as irrelevant to many games makers.
As the company attempts to convert non-traditional audiences to video games, worldwide sales of the Nintendo Wii console have already overtaken those of the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Sony PlayStation 3.
