Halo features an excellent story line with single-player game play that should keep you glued to your seat.
As has become the de facto standard, the first stage doubles as the training level. However, once your mission starts with stage two, you will have the opportunity to let out all your pent-up frustration.
You start in the thick of the action on the planet Halo as you fight aliens by the dozen. Think "Starship Troopers", only with more bugs.
The controls do take some time getting used to, but once you have mastered it, it adds to the overall quality of game play.
Graphically, the game is beautiful, and the sound compliments it well. Unfortunately, the synchronisation between mouth movements and sound are not quite up to standard, so you occasionally get the impression you`re in an old Kung Fu movie.
The game is also a resource hog. Even if your machine is top-of-the-line, it will struggle with some of the more intense action sequences.
Overall, Halo is a very challenging game that is bound to stimulate more than just the gaming neurons in your brain. Simply put, Rambo has nothing on this guy as you simply shoot to please.
