Rectron, the local Goldensoft Technology distributor, has released a new offering from the Taiwanese software developer designed to fully protect data and systems files from computer hard drive failures or corruption.
Dubbed the Recovery Genius, the package is targeted at managed IT environments and is designed to offer protection to multiple logical drives concurrently. It is capable of restoring all operating parameters to default values when required.
Alan Michas, Rectron`s IT manager, says the software is notebook compatible and file format independent.
"Recovery Genius works with all BIOS types and completely protects fixed and removable hard drives, including IDE and SCSI drives," he says. "The size of the protected area can be varied to suit the application, and it can be extended to include the entire hard disk."
The software, which allows multiple recovery modes to be set, supports DOS, Win3x, Win9x, WinNT or Win2000 platforms as well as FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS file formats.
