Harnessing corporate knowledge with FTI

By Faculty Training Institute
Johannesburg, 28 May 2007

More people in business, industry, government, and other organisations work directly with information than with raw materials.

Information is both a product and a component of the work of most of us, yet few people receive training about its use. The know-how contained within an organisation, both explicit (recorded) and tacit (in the form of the intellectual capital of its members) represents major, but often unrecognised assets.

How do organisations extract that knowledge, and harness it to assist in organisational efforts to continuously improve and remain competitive?

Faculty Training Institute (FTI) is introducing a short six-day course, titled: Harnessing Corporate Knowledge - Principles of Information and Knowledge Management. Starting in May 2007, the course will consist of six full-day sessions (9:00am to 4:30pm), structured as two consecutive day sessions, followed by one-day sessions once a week, over four weeks.

Public training will take place at FTI House, Kenilworth, Cape Town, and FTI Training Centre, Sunninghill, Johannesburg. FTI also rents temporary venues in other regions as needed. Most in-house courses are held on the company premises.

The cost of the course is available on request. Discounts apply in certain cases, and fees cover tuition, materials, notes and catering.
