Hertz embraces self-service

Hertz, the number one airport rental brand in the US, has released a self-service express check-in program to get customers on their way in a guaranteed 10 minutes or less, says CNN Money.

Beginning 1 July, and available at the 50 largest airport locations in the US, customers who having reserved a Hertz rental, start the check-in process online at Hertz.com. and then use the self-service express kiosks and/or express counters at participating Hertz locations.

Hertz is standing behind its 10-minute guarantee with a $50 credit toward a current or future Hertz rental for customers who checked in online, and then, after arriving on the kiosk or express counter line at any of the 50 participating locations, were not on their way within 10 minutes.

Kaiser Permanente deploys self-service kiosks

US organisation Kaiser Permanente has implemented its first self-service kiosks for patient check-in and payments as part of a project that includes over 60 clinics in Southern California, reports EPNN.

The initiative enables individuals to swipe their standard-issue member card in the kiosk to check-in for their appointments. Members will be able to make non-dues payments by means of their credit and debit cards.

The kiosks will serve in languages including English, Spanish, Chinese and Vietnamese. Over 90 pilot kiosks are expected to be implemented by the end of 2008 across Southern California.

KeyBank enhances ATM network

Diebold, an integrated self-service delivery and imaging services company, is helping KeyBank provide its clients with a better overall banking experience, according to Finextra.

In the latest agreement, KeyBank is modernising its self-service channel and replacing older machines with Opteva ATMs loaded with advanced-functionality Agilis software that provides personalised screen content and messages tailored to specific client segments, enables KeyBank to troubleshoot and access specific ATMs from a central location, and offers faster resolution of specific ATM transaction inquiries.

As KeyBank's long-time partner, Diebold is providing a total turnkey solution that enables the financial institution to increase functionality and decrease costs, freeing up assets for other expenditures, while maximising time and resources across its ATM channel.
