Hewlett-Packard colour solutions for the competitive edge

Johannesburg, 07 Jan 2000

According to Traci Maynard, product manager for Hewlett-Packard peripherals at Tarsus Technologies, colour documents can have a dramatic effect on business performance. She cites an American case study, where the Blue Sky insurance company randomly sent out exact numbers of mono- and colour renewal forms. "It was revealed that through the use of simple colouring, an average return time of 28 days was recorded, whereas mono forms were returned 45 days later," she says.

"Clearly the use of colour in business documents can deliver better business results," asserts Maynard.

In the highly competitive business arena, colour translates into profits. From business proposals, slide presentations, sales leaflets or electronic forms, colour adds interest and says more about your business. Because colour means easier readability and increased visual excitement, there are instances where colour can add significantly to sales success. "Colour improves comprehension of complex charts and diagrams and can increase interest in even the most mundane subject," says Maynard. She adds that the successful use of colour is limited only by the imagination.

"A multi-page business document may be predominantly black, but the occasional colour page can break the monotony of the text and really bring it to life," explains Maynard.

As an example where an office colour printer will provide tremendous business benefits, Maynard cites training literature. "Small print runs of colour documents are often required in this scenario. The use of an effective colour printing solution means improved performance at cost effective rates," she says.

The Hewlett-Packard brand, distributed by Tarsus, offers the best in colour print quality. From small workgroup colour printers to fast, high volume colour MOPYing and duplex printing, from envelopes to A3 and up to A0 colour posters, Hewlett-Packard has the colour printing solution for your business needs.

"The advantages of colour printing in business documents cannot be underestimated. The Blue Sky insurance case study is an excellent example of better business through-put with the use of simple yet effective colour to galvanise consumers into action," concludes Maynard.
