Highly successful inaugural Certified PlateSpin Analyst training

Johannesburg, 08 Sep 2006

On 31 August and 1 September 2006, the inaugural training session for the Certified PlateSpin Analyst (CPSA) certification in Africa was held at the Cape Town venue of SoftSelect Campus.

System Engineers from T-Systems, Dimension Data, GijimaAST and Chisa Technologies (Dell) attended this training session.

Attendees were trained on the successful implementation of the PlateSpin technologies in enterprise environments. This session is followed by a certification exam which, if successfully passed, will make the attendees become part of an exclusive worldwide group of Certified PlateSpin Analysts.

CPSA certification is a requirement for resellers and ISVs interested in selling and implementing any of the PlateSpin solutions to their customer base. This ensures high standards and correct implementation at end-customer sites of the highly sought-after tools, and further ensures peace of mind for end-customers that their solution provider is properly skilled.

PlateSpin PowerConvert is the worldwide leader in X-to-X conversions. This allows companies to freely move their computing infrastructure around between physical servers, virtual machines and image templates. The fully automated, agentless solution ensures the correct migration of a machine between these formats with the minimum amount of effort and impact on the production environment. With the new LiveTransfer technology introduced in version 6.0 of the software it is now even possible to convert a production server while it is still in full operation.

PlateSpin PowerRecon will enable an organisation to pre-assess their environment before embarking on any physical-to-virtual consolidation project. It will make recommendations on the correct sizing of new host servers as well as the optimum placement of the virtual machines on those hosts. It will even allow you to test different "what if" scenarios to evaluate the impact of making changes in equipment specifications. This guarantees companies that their equipment purchasing budgets are well spent and that their environments will run at optimum capacity after their consolidation project has completed. All of this is done in an agentless fashion without sending data off-site, and based on data collected from the customer's own unique environment.
