Logitech has announced a new range of mobile phone headsets, which it says is a move that will breathe life into a market formerly characterised by dull and uncomfortable products. The new range contains six products, each designed for a different lifestyle.
The corded mobile phone accessory line consists of four different models of earpiece headset, together with two `over ear` models.
Logitech has taken care to ensure that each product will fit the user`s ear. The answer is a break with the `one size fits all` approach of other mobile phone accessories.
Each model of ear bud comes with Logitech FlexLoop soft rubber attachments which hold the earpiece in place. There are four different sizes of FlexLoop within each package. The user simply chooses the FlexLoop that best fits their ear size, and attaches this to the earpiece for a comfortable and secure fit.
The FlexLoop technology improves the stability of the earpiece, which not only makes it more pleasant to use, but also makes the headset sound louder and clearer, says Logitech.
Two over-the-ear headsets complete the new range of corded mobile phone accessories. The over-the-ear headsets comfortably slip over the top of any ear, and stay in place for on-the-go use.
"Our research showed us time after time how disappointed users are with current hands-free devices," says Garreth Hayes, a Logitech marketing executive. "They are almost always uncomfortable to use, they detract from the excellent design of most modern handsets, and the sound quality can often be poor.
"We will provide the same ease of use, great design and quality performance that Logitech is known for and which seems to be largely lacking in this area."
The new headsets are compatible with all of the popular mobile phones on the market today, and will be sold specifically for dedicated phones, so customers can take advantage of features like flash and call/answer buttons.
Logitech Earbud Headset includes the ambidextrous FlexLoop technology, which ensures the product will fit any ear. The Earbud Headset also includes an inline omni-directional microphone.
Logitech Premium Earbud Headset features a soft-touch rubber surface for superior comfort, feel and style. It includes a call answer button, which enables the user to take and end calls without needing to pick up the mobile phone. The Premium Earbud uses FlexLoop technology and includes an inline omni-directional microphone. It comes with a simple, wrap-around, cable storage system, which helps to prevent tangled cords.
Logitech Over Ear Red Headset and Logitech Over Ear Blue Headset offer the simplicity and comfort of an over ear fit, with the fun colour option of vibrant red or clear blue. These soft gel headsets feature flexible, lightweight designs and call answer buttons directly on the inline omni-directional microphone.
Logitech Retractable Earbud Headset offers a sophisticated cable management system. The cord retracts into a small circular compact-style pod. This has a belt or purse clip fastened to the back, for easy deployment. The all-in-one earpiece includes an omni-directional microphone and a call answer button. The Retractrable Earbud uses FlexLoop technology and offers the soft touch rubber surface.
Logitech Mobile Mini-Boom Headset is ideal for business professionals looking for high quality sound. This headset includes a miniature noise-cancelling microphone that ensures superior audio quality in high background noise environments.
The call answer button resides directly on the earbud, and the headset`s soft touch rubber surface gives it a classy feel.
