Hitachi unveils integrated centre products

centre solutions company, Hitachi Data Systems has rolled out integrated data centre infrastructure products, designed to help enterprises and cloud service providers simplify the process of building a cloud computing platform, reports CBR.

According to the storage giant, the converged data centre services are designed to automate, accelerate and simplify cloud adoption.

Many enterprises want to start up private clouds but aren't sure how to begin. This is because there are currently few standards, integrations and certifications for such deployments that bring predictable and reliable results, says Hitachi in an eWeek report.

Miki Sandorfi, Hitachi chief strategist for file and content services says: “Because we are integrating our storage with new compute blades and network infrastructure components, we are now providing repeatable, converged architectures for the data centre, as customers move down the path toward cloud.”

CRN reveals Dave Cerniglia, president of Consiliant Technologies, says Hitachi has been talking about converged data centre solutions for some time, in order to compete in the cloud.

Hitachi's primary competitors include Cisco with its universal computing system, HP with its converged infrastructure, and Oracle with its combined hardware and middleware stacks.
