A South African-born free customer relationship management (CRM) solution is set to go open source this year.
The creator of the NovoCM solution, Pretoria-based Nico Kruger, says the solution is currently free and running in 60 sites around the world.
"It will be open source later this year as we ready the code and infrastructure to support developers locally and globally to contribute to the project. We will implement configuration management tools to assist with this," he says.
Kruger describes NovoCM as "a fully featured CRM tool for the Microsoft Windows platform with support for MS Access, MS SQL and mySQL databases".
It allows users to manage customer data, link contacts to customers, manage sales and leads, and track support cases per customer and per product. The solution is integrated with TestTrack Pro by Seapine Software.
