HP cuts prices of DDS-1 products

Prices Reduced by up to 35 Percent

Hewlett-Packard Company has cut prices by up to 35 percent on its HP SureStore DDS-1 family of products, making the benefits of the Digital Data Storage (DDS) technology even more accessible to price-sensitive network users. Price cuts are effective immediately. Benefits of HP SureStore DDS products include HP TapeAssure for easy hardware installation; TapeAlert, a self-diagnostic tool; read-after-write data verification for a high level of data integrity; compatibility with all major operating systems and software solutions; a three-year Express Exchange warranty; and a DDS migration path with up to 24GB(1) of unattended backup. HP`s Information Storage Group, which focuses on the rapidly growing extended-storage market, manufactures and sells information-storage products based on tape, magneto-optical and CD-RW technologies. HP storage solutions include digital-audio-tape (DAT) drives and digital-linear-tape (DLT) libraries, minicartridge (QIC) tape drives and software, CD- ReWritable drives, and magneto-optical drives and jukeboxes. These products are sold through a variety of distribution channels under the HP SureStore and HP Colorado brand names, as well as to OEM customers.
