Beefing up its education offerings after the launch of a renewed drive early last month, HP South Africa has announced new online training courses and programmes, special e-learning price offers and other related incentives.
Online training has received a shot in the arm courtesy of HP`s IT Resource Centre (ITRC) - a learning community hosted at http://education.itresourcecenter.hp.com. The centre offers what Imraan Jassat, the education specialist at HP South Africa, believes is a clear and simple route to identifying learning needs.
"ITRC helps partners and customers understand where their learning requirements lie and it presents them with a range of options from our integrated learning approach as a solution - this includes online seminars, classroom courses, onsite courses and Web-based training," he explains.
Using content generated by HP and courseware providers such as SmartForce and MindLeaders, ITRC makes it easy to choose topics and attend training at times which are convenient.
"There`s a huge choice, including networking and protocols, Cisco technologies, e-commerce and e-services, CRM, Internet security, Microsoft SQL Exchange Server, Proxy Server & IIS, Oracle, Informix and SAP; Itanium and the hp9000 Superdome Java, DHTML, XML and Javascript, among many others," notes Jassat.
HP is also offering free Web-based training worth $150 via the ITRC. All companies need to do is book any scheduled course of three days or more in August and attend in August 2001.
"These people will then qualify for $150 of online learning content from the ITRC; this has to be taken by 31 October 2001," says Jassat.
Price incentives are also being offered when companies purchase large quantities of e-learning from the ITRC (up to 20% discounts are available) and when individuals purchase more than two ITRC courses before the end of August (a 33% discount is available).
