Fully Networkable Professional Colour Printers Offer Powerful Performance and Photo-quality Colour
Hewlett-Packard Company has introduced the HP 2500C/CM Professional Series colour printers. These next-generation inkjet printers for small workgroups integrate seamlessly into all major network environments. The new printers use HP`s revolutionary modular ink-delivery system, first introduced in the HP 2000C Professional Series colour printers. This breakthrough printing architecture provides photo-quality output at impressive speeds and offers laser-class printing costs.
"Designed for the small to medium size workgroup, the HP 2500C/CM printers will help accelerate the growing adoption of colour in the office," said Steve Midgley, HP marketing manager peripherals. "The HP 2500C/CM printers allow multiple users in any department, from marketing and sales to accounting and engineering, the ability to create a wide range of exciting, full-colour documents - including business proposals, slide presentations, spreadsheets and flowcharts."
The HP 2500C/CM printers support a 12,000 page-per-month duty cycle. Both printers come standard with two paper trays that hold a total of 400 sheets, and an innovative LCD front panel for easy printer configuration and operation. The HP 2500C printer comes with 4MB standard RAM, while the HP 2500CM printer comes with 12MB standard RAM. Both are expandable up to a total of 76MB. The 2500CM printer comes with an internal network 10/100Base-T MIO card, as well as true Adobe Postscript 3. printers support all major network operating systems and protocols with seamless connectivity.
The HP 2500C/CM printers use HP`s exclusive PhotoRet II colour layering technology to provide brilliant photo-quality colour on any paper. They offer black text speeds of up to 9 pages per minute (ppm) and mixed text and colour graphics speeds of up to 7 ppm. Customers can print on a wide variety of media, including postcards, labels, transparencies and any paper up to A3 oversize.
The printers use HP`s innovative modular ink-delivery system with four separate ink cartridges and four separate long-life printheads. The individual components, instead of the entire unit, can be replaced as needed - resulting in low cost per page. The larger printheads print across a wider swath, increasing speed. Each component is equipped with a "smart chip" memory device to alert the printer when individual ink cartridges are low on ink or when printheads are nearing the end of their print-life. The information is displayed on the printer`s LCD panel so users can check ink levels before printing -- reducing the need to re-print, and minimising ink and media waste.
The HP 2500C/CM printers offer compatibility with Microsoft Windows 3.1x, 95/98 and Windows NT 4.0. The HP 2500C will be available from November 1st 1998. The HP 2500CM printer offers robust network capabilities out-of-the-box and is designed for use in both Windows and Macintosh environments. The printer will be available in early spring.
The HP 2500C/CM printers come with a limited one-year on-site warranty. As of November 1998, more information will be available at http://www.hp.com/go/2500c.
