HP has unveiled services it says will enable customers to maximise the benefits of their virtualisation projects.
According to the company, virtualisation benefits companies in several ways. These include better business agility, decreased risk of downtime as well as cost benefits.
The new services include HP Virtualisation Accelerator Services, HP Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Services supporting Citrix XenDesktop, and HP Virtualisation Support Services. HP says these services are aimed at helping customers deploy virtualisation broadly into their technology environments, and also provide ongoing operations and support.
Zanaid Juma, Technology Solutions Group consulting and integration country manager for HP, says: "Customers worldwide are deploying virtualisation for more than cost savings and efficiency - they are also using it to reduce energy consumption, increase flexibility and reduce or eliminate downtime.
"HP's virtualisation services, combined with years of experience, enables customers to rapidly and successfully implement virtualisation across the enterprise to immediately achieve these benefits."
He describes the HP Virtualisation Accelerator Services as being predefined, fixed-price consulting services for planning, designing and implementing virtualisation initiatives.
Using a "productised" approach makes the buying process easier, lowers costs and deployment time, Juma says. "This enables customers to realise a faster return on their virtualisation investments."
These services allow HP consultants to deliver virtualisation projects incrementally as part of the bigger data centre virtualisation picture. "Customers can combine multiple services and build on them to meet their specific business requirements," he concludes.
