Graphic designers and CAD operators require accurate and highly reliable print solutions to reflect the quality of their work. According to Traci Maynard, product manager for Hewlett-Packard at Tarsus Technologies, the HP LaserJet 5000 family of printers has been designed with these users in mind to provide a high volume, network-ready A3 workgroup print solution. "These machines provide for A3 prints with full bleed allowing the graphic designer or architectural CAD operator to print their designs without any risk of losing edges," says Maynard.
The range-topping HP 5000GN was awarded a "Top Ten Printer" accolade by PC World magazine; "A great addition to your workgroup - we liked [the LaserJet 5000GN`s feature set, which includes a 100MHz CPU and 1GB hard disk for font storage, plus a 10Base-T/LocalTalk combo interface. We were also impressed by its 15-second recovery from power-saving mode," said the publication, while PC Magazine bestowed an Editors Choice award on the printer.
Additionally, the machine is designed for low user intervention and can be easily installed and configured within 15 minutes of opening the box. The machine can be configured to automatically update drivers over the Internet, and high paper and toner capacity means less frequent restocking. "With the 100Mhz RISC processor, the 5000 series delivers the first page within 13 seconds of tuning the machine on. The HP WebJet Admin software included with these machines allows for easy remote management, allowing ease of use for users and administrators alike," concludes Maynard.
