HP launches A3 DeskJet printer for creativity in the office

HP DeskJet 1120C flexible colour inkjet printer designed for high quality on different sizes and types of media
Johannesburg, 12 Mar 1998

Hewlett-Packard Company has introduced the HP DeskJet 1120C Professional Series inkjet printer which offers versatile photo-quality business printing, exceptional media flexibility, enhanced software features and optional network capabilities. "The HP DeskJet 1120C printer is perfectly suited for the needs of small businesses, with its media flexibility and high quality colour printing. It is a great product for creative communications as well," said Steve Midgley, Hewlett-Packard product marketing manager, Peripherals. Print quality and media flexibility The HP DeskJet 1120C uses the latest generation of PhotoREt II-technology, which delivers the highest-quality colour output offered in Professional Series DeskJet printers. PhotoREtII offers photo quality colour printing as a result of multi-drop and multi-layer inkjet print technology. PhotoREt II is now the new standard for HP`s business printers. Another benefit of the HP DeskJet 1120C is its media flexibility. It can print on paper sizes up to A3 and on media which is up to 0.3 mm thick. This enables the business and marketing professional to present their ideas in a colourful and impressive way. It can be used to create presentations, newsletter and booklets as well as postcard, banners and even posters. The creation of all these different documents is very easy, thanks to the following built-in software features: * HP ZoomSmart scaling technology - allows users to enlarge or reduce a document to the desired print size, with no loss of resolution. * Booklets - allows customers to print catalogues and booklets paginated in the proper order automatically, on any paper size and with two-sided printing. * Billboards - allows users to create posters as large as 3 by 3 A3 prints. * Print preview - allows users to preview a true graphical representation of what the printed document will look like. * Mirror imaging - for back-lit displays or T-shirt printing. * Duplex printing - for efficient use of media. Business performance The HP DeskJet 1120C`s print speed on A4 is 6.5 pages per minute (ppm) in black and white and 4 ppm (A4) in colour. The print speed on A3 is 4 ppm in black and 3 ppm in colour. The printer has three paper paths, which enables the customer to print on a variety of media sizes and types, including greeting-cards, transparencies, envelopes, labels, plain paper and HP special paper. The HP DeskJet 1120C printer offers businesses a host of professional connectivity options, including support for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95, Windows 3.1x and DOS. The new printer, which uses HP PCL 3 printer control language, can be shared among several users by attaching it to networks using HP JetDirect external print servers. A connectivity pack for Apple Mac users is available through InfoWave Inc. Warranty All HP DeskJet printers come standard with a one-year, limited warranty.
