HP launches duplex network printer for workgroups

Hewlett-Packard Company has announced the latest addition to its LaserJet 5000 workgroup printer series, the HP LaserJet 5000DN printer.

The HP LaserJet 5000DN printer is a duplex network printer designed to meet the growing demand for cost-effective duplex printing up to A3 format in the monochrome market. Duplex printing enables companies to reduce expenditure on paper, create a wider range of documents, and to minimise media waste.

The LaserJet 5000DN comes equipped with the following features as standard:

• duplex accessory,

• 36Mb memory (expanding to 164Mb),

• the new HP JetDirect EIO 10/100 Base-TX internal print server,

• 850-sheet paper capacity (maximum capacity of 1100 sheets),

• full-bleed A3 output

• 16 pages per minute printing speed

• HP ProRes 1200 and HP FastRes 1200 for 1200-dpi printing,

• instant-on fuser giving a first page out in just 13 seconds, even from powersave mode

• 65,000 pages per month duty cycle.

The HP LaserJet 5000DN duplex accessory features make the printer environmentally friendly and cost-efficient, as it reduces the volume of paper used and allows customers to produce double-sided documents and booklets in-house. The additional memory enables easy and quick printing of complex documents, and the high paper capacity allows printing on multiple media types from different trays and increases productivity.
