HP readies Windows 7 PCs
HP has released a slew of PCs that leverage its growing investment in touch-screen technology ahead of Microsoft's Windows 7 release, reports TechNewsWorld.
The products, both desktops and notebooks, target just about every buying constituency there is, from college students seeking affordable notebooks to businesses interested in upgrading to high-end desktops and laptops.
Leading the pack are several new additions to its TouchSmart line, including the HP LD4200tm, equipped with HP's first fully interactive, 42-inch diagonal, high-definition digital signage touch display.
Fujitsu demos multi-touch desktops
Fujitsu in Japan is showing off a range of new desktop and notebook PCs, including the Deskpower F/ER-series all-in-one desktop and MT Series and Biblo NF/ERs notebooks, states EthioPlanet.
The F-series offer a model with a 23-inch, 1920x1080 or 20-inch, 1600x900 multi-touch display, powered by Intel's 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo CPU, along with 4GB of RAM.
Options include a Blu-ray model, 1TB of combined hard drive space and a choice of digital and analogue TV tuners.
Compaq to be revived
HP is looking to revive the Compaq brand in the US, releasing a series of ultra cheap computers to meet the needs of consumers tightening their belts amid a downtrodden economy, according to The Cleveland Leader.
The company is rolling out a line of laptop and desktop Compaq PCs.
The first offering is a 15.6-inch laptop featuring AMD Sempron CPU, 2GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, DVD burner, and discrete graphics, running off Windows 7 Home Premium.
