HP LaserJet 1100 Printer and HP LaserJet 1100A Printer/Copier/Scanner Designed to Increase Personal Efficiency

Hewlett-Packard Company, the world`s leading supplier of printing solutions, has announced a new generation of personal HP LaserJet products designed to improve user efficiency by providing faster printing and more functionality on the desktop. Both the HP LaserJet 1100 printer and HP LaserJet 1100A printer/copier/scanner enable business users to print professional looking documents quickly at the desktop.

The HP LaserJet 1100 printer, certified to Germany`s Blue Angel environmental standard, is an 8-page-per-minute (ppm) personal laser printer targeted at individuals in any-sized office who need to be able to print on a wide range of media including transparencies, card stock, postcards, envelopes and labels.

The HP LaserJet 1100 printer delivers high-quality laser results through a combination of true 600-dot-per-inch (dpi) resolution, HP`s Resolution Enhancement technology (REt) and the new HP UltraPrecise toner cartridge. With a duty cycle of 7,000 pages per month, the HP LaserJet 1100 printer is designed for busy office workers and is extremely easy to set up and use. With 2MB standard memory (expandable to 18MB), users can print a full range of business documents. The printer is supplied complete with an IEEE 1284-compliant parallel cable.

To enable users to handle more functions, the HP LaserJet 1100 printer features HP`s JetPath technology, which provides an upgrade path to the HP LaserJet 1100A printer/copier/scanner with an optional copy/scan accessory.

The HP LaserJet 1100A printer/copier/scanner, also certified to Germany`s Blue Angel environmental standard, is the all-in-one version of the HP LaserJet 1100 printer. It includes the copy and scan functions to provide users with fast, high-quality laser printing and copying combined with a comprehensive document-management solution. Targeted at business users who handle large amounts of documents and information, the HP LaserJet 1100A printer/copier/scanner offers a dependable, easy-to-use and cost-effective solution for the management of business documents. Users benefit from the same speed and output quality of the HP LaserJet 1100 printer.

The HP LaserJet 1100A printer/copier/scanner offers intuitive control of copy and scan operations by means of two buttons located on the front of the product. The first button launches the quick copy function, which makes a quick, high-quality copy of the document loaded in the scanner input bin (even without the PC turned on). The second button activates the HP document assist software, which allows users to select the task they wish to perform by clicking on one of the following desired functions:

  • Scan-to-e-mail - automatically scans the document, opens the user`s e-mail application and attaches the document to a blank e-mail for the user to address and send;
  • Scan-to-fax - automatically scans and sends the document to the user`s PC fax application;
  • Store - automatically scans and presents the document in the HP LaserJet Document desktop software, where the user can view, annotate, edit and store the document;
  • Optical character recognition (OCR) - automatically converts the document to text via OCR and opens the user`s word processor with the text file shown;
  • Copy - provides copy capabilities for completing copy jobs that require more user interaction than the quick copy feature.

The HP LaserJet 1100 printer and HP LaserJet 1100A printer/copier/scanner support Microsoft(R) Windows 95/98, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 3.1x. The printing function is also compatible with DOS and OS/2.
