HP settles cartridge dispute
HP says it has reached a settlement agreement with Print-Rite Holdings relating to the HP 02 inkjet cartridges, reports TTKN News.
Print-Rite has acknowledged that HP's patents are valid and in effect, and agreed to withdraw the products involved in the dispute in the US and other countries where the patent is effective.
“We are pleased with this amicable settlement, which serves as a demonstration of our ongoing commitment to protecting HP's investments in intellectual property,” says Stephen Nigro, senior vice-president of HP's inkjet and Web services business.
Maskless Lithography unveils PCB printing
Maskless Lithography has released a direct-write digital imaging technology that works with printed circuit board (PCB) production, writes Market Watch.
The MLI-2027 direct-write lithography system uses standard 'non-LDI' resists, and is based on the company's patented Gray Level Imaging technology.
Sanmina-SCI is reported by Maskless to have accepted the first production tool after completing beta testing, validation and qualification of the MLI-2027 equipment.
Printronix unveils energy-efficient printers
Printronix has unveiled the T5000r thermal bar code and SL5000r radio frequency identification (RFID) printers, says Mobile Barcode Innovations.
The thermal printers meet the latest 2009 Energy Star programme requirements for imaging equipment. Energy Star ratings are earned by products that meet the energy efficiency guidelines as set by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy.
"We have made significant enhancements to our thermal bar code and RFID printer product lines, which reinforces our commitment to supporting our customers' evolving business needs and performance requirements," states Pendy Pendyala, vice-president of global marketing, Printronix.
