As part of its drive to take end-to-end education solutions to the local market, HP South Africa will showcase its offerings and strategies at this week`s marcus evans e-learning summit in Rosebank.
Among the messages being delivered is the need for companies to research, endorse and deploy e-learning methodologies.
"One of our international business managers will be delivering a keynote on just that topic," explains Imraan Jassat, education specialist at HP South Africa.
"We`re not just going to be talking theory though. We are going to be looking at tangible strategies for companies of different sizes with different needs, demonstrating some of our solutions, and showing how partnerships with a company like HP can make e-learning a reality."
These solutions include HP`s IT Resource Centre, an Internet-based training resource that offers knowledge, tools and services; and the HP Virtual Classroom, an online means of educating people, offering the flexibility of an actual classroom but utilising a low bandwidth Internet connection.
In addition to e-learning per se, Jassat says HP is also expecting to discuss many aspects of integrated learning with delegates.
"Technology-enabled learning [e-learning] is at the heart of our integrated learning approach. This is specifically designed to apply the appropriate learning technology and methodology to education and training requirements, radically reducing the time and cost required for training."
In fact, HP`s keynote will deal with these issues: it will define the concept of integrated learning, exploring the environment, show how integrated learning can work in an organisation and demonstrate the tangible ROI that can be garnered.
HP offers an end-to-end framework for delivering an integrated learning solution. It blends consulting and systems integration with cost-effective delivery options, from group classes to interactive Web-based lecture labs, to seminars, mentoring, and beyond.
"With integrated learning we believe we`re building on our heritage and strength as a provider of classroom and Internet education," says Jassat.
"It offers customers the breadth and depth of delivery options required to match specific needs - from the individual to the enterprise, from the IT professional to the business executive."
