HP wins cartridge patent cases
The computer hardware and software giant said the ITC's initial determination ruling found MicroJet Technology violated HP's patents and found Asia-Pacific Microsystems in violation as a contributory infringer of the patents.
The case involved the importation and sale of alleged patent-infringing inkjet print cartridges, according to HP.
The Sun Herald quoted HP director, Inkjet and Web Solutions Market Development, Imaging and Printing Group, Andy Binder, as saying: “HP is pleased with the outcome on these matters and the ITC's pursuit of legal enforcement against practices that violate intellectual property rights.”
According to ABC News, HP filed a complaint with the ITC last June, seeking to ban imports of ink cartridges that it said infringed on its patents. Shares of HP fell 21 cents to $35.25 during the regular session.
