HTC targets competitors with Rezound

News Tonight states.

Especially for those who are expressly demanding when it comes to the quality of music offered by the gadgets, the new handset has been dubbed the HTC Rezound and, as per reports, is the first smartphone in America to feature Beats Audio from Beats Electronics.

PardaPhash reveals that Beats Audio is a special area of expertise of Beat Electronics, which is owned by American rapper and producer Dr Dre, and chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records Jimmy Iovine.

The move is seen as an attempt by HTC to beat competition from rival Android smartphone makers such as Motorola, Samsung and Sony, by offering superior audio features.

HTC is bundling the handset with a pair of custom lightweight Beats headphones to ensure listeners do not miss out on the phone's "thundering bass, soaring midrange and crisp highs”, Hindustan Times notes.

The handset is similar to its European counterpart, the HTC Sensation XE (which is also a Beats Audio device), and is one step up from the HTC Sensation that was launched earlier this year.
