Huawei last week unveiled the Huawei Ideos X5, the most recent addition to the Ideos family of smart devices.
Featuring the latest e-mail, document, and calendar management tools and the Android 2.2 operating system, Huawei says the X5 is an ultra-sleek touchscreen device that redefines convenience and productivity for today's busy professionals.
The Chinese tech giant adds that from hardware and software to product design, each detail of the Huawei Ideos X5 is specifically chosen to bring consumers a smart mobile experience.
“The Huawei Ideos X5 offers connectivity through HSPA and WiFi 802.11n and has 4G memory and a SD card slot that allows more applications to be installed and stored,” it says.
The smartphone also boasts of 5MP camera and 720p high-definition video recording and playback features.
Huawei Devices director of Eastern and Southern Africa, Leo Wang says: “Building on to our global success of our first Ideos (U8150) smartphone, Huawei is looking forward to introducing the Ideos X5 (U8800) in to the African market later this year.”
The company also explains the Ideos X5 is the second Huawei smartphone to feature the 'with Google' collaboration.
“This sleek sexy Smartphone is not only good-looking, but it is also jam-packed with the latest technology, integrating our everyday lives with our digital lives effortlessly and serving our needs to be online and in-touch”, adds Wang.
Since September 2010, the first Ideos smartphone has sold more than one million handsets in over 70 countries within the first two months and will be available in SA in February.
