Huge signs NGN Telecoms deal

Johannesburg, 12 Oct 2009

Huge Telecom has signed an agreement with NGN Telecoms, which will see Huge add fax-to-e-mail and e-mail-to-fax to its range of products.

NGN has partnerships with telecoms companies across the UK, China and Africa, and has more than 70% of the fax-to-e-mail market in SA. Huge Telecom is SA's oldest managed telecoms provider and has offices throughout SA and in Namibia.

Huge product director Vincent Mokholo says fax-to-e-mail, although seen as a legacy technology, will continue to enjoy growth over the coming years. “The reality of the situation is that fax is still the approved standard across organisations in SA.”

He adds that the technology is also green, as it reduces the amount of printing, and saves costs as a result.

Safe faxing

Mokholo adds that “over the last decade, NGN has established itself as an innovative and leading player in the fax space in SA. It offers secure faxing services to some of SA's giants, including the likes of Standard , the JD Group and the South African Presidency.”

He adds that the company's solution has been approved by the Department of Justice, which ensures and integrity of faxes.

NGN CEO Calum McCracken says NGN has invested heavily in ensuring its solution meets the requirements of big business and satisfies government regulations.

“Privacy concerns, audit trails, and fraud and data integrity are regularly used scare-tactics by providers of on-site faxing solutions,” explains McCracken.
