I-CSS leading the way with SMS repair notification

Johannesburg, 09 Nov 2004

Independent Computer Support Services (I-CSS) has implemented a unique SMS confirmation service for customers who have booked equipment in for repairs. This service is a first in the world for I-CSS, and has subsequently been implemented in some European countries after trials proved the effectiveness of the system.

The customer books a unit in, and leaves a cellphone number as a contact. An SMS is then sent to the customer confirming the job number, for ease of tracking.

Once the unit is repaired, an SMS is sent to the customer to inform them that the unit is ready for collection, and to remind them to bring their receipt. This automated process saves time for the customer, and avoids unnecessary call-ins.

I-CSS Managing Director Peter Strydom says the company is proud to be able to provide this world-first service to it`s customers. "It`s a great step towards improving our already-impressive customer support services. We`re always looking to innovate with regards to our service, and things like SMS Notification are only the first step towards greater things", he says.
