I-Fusion`s losses decrease

Bidvest-owned technology company I-Fusion continued to decrease its losses in the six months to end-December.

Established in 1991, I-Fusion is a provider of a range of and desktop services that became a wholly owned Bidvest subsidiary in 2001.

Revenue for the six months declined to R25.55 million from revenue of R32.95 million for the same period a year earlier.

Despite the decline in revenue, the operating loss improved from R3.5 million to R2.69 million.

The improvement continues the trend evident in the results for the year to end-June last year, when the operating loss improved by 44.6% from R9.1 million to R5.04 million as the benefits of a restructuring programme began to take effect.

Bidvest`s electronic business-to-business marketplace, mymarket.com, improved its operating loss to R2.91 million in the six months to end-December, compared with R3.39 million in the prior-year period.

Revenue rose from R1.32 million to R3.88 million.

The two companies make a minuscule contribution to Bidvest`s overall performance. Their combined revenue for the six months accounted for just 0.13% of Bidvest`s total revenue of R22.21 billion.
