iAnywhere Solutions, the mobile and wireless division of Sybase SA, has introduced a new certification exam for Adaptive Server Anywhere 8, a key component of SQL Anywhere Studio. The certification is part of the Sybase Certified Professional Program and demonstrates proficiency in designing, developing, implementing and administering Adaptive Server Anywhere 8 databases.
"The Adaptive Server Anywhere 8 exam is a well balanced test measuring developers' knowledge of the latest version, which features major performance, security and developer enhancements," says Deon Engelbrecht, business development manager at iAnywhere Solutions SA. "Professional certification offers developers the technical skills, experience and confidence to design and implement real-world solutions, making them a more valuable asset to employers and clients."
Ultimately, this provides a competitive advantage for the entire organisation through enhanced service, higher productivity, and lower operating costs.
SQL Anywhere Studio is the next generation of data management and synchronisation solutions, featuring major performance, security and developer enhancements, and optimised for larger scale mobile, embedded and workgroup deployments. It is the platform of choice for extending business data and information beyond corporate walls, powering solutions that improve productivity, streamline operations and create new revenue opportunities. According to Gartner Dataquest, iAnywhere Solutions increased its five-year dominance of the mobile database market by seven share points, reaching a 72% share in 2000. In addition, more than 1 000 application partners embed the technology as a part of their software packages for resale, including sales force automation (SFA), field service, customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise portal (EP) solutions.
Local developers are also invited to participate in the iAnywhere Solution Developer Community, a central resource for accessing technical information that makes it easier to find information needed to assist in the development and deployment of mobile, wireless, workgroup and embedded solutions. This community also provides a forum for discussions on a wide range of related topics through newsgroups, webcasts and events.
