iAnywhere Solutions, the mobile and wireless division of Sybase SA, is to release Mail Anywhere Studio, the next generation of iAnywhere Mobile Mail that provides always available access to business e-mail, calendar, contact and task information from mobile devices. This new version increases mobile worker productivity and provides IT administrators with enhanced tools and remote configuration options.
"Increasingly, customers are looking to mobilise both business e-mail and line-of-business applications to provide mobile workers with critical information anytime, anywhere," says Deon Engelbrecht, business development manager at iAnywhere Solutions SA. "Mail Anywhere Studio offers the perfect complement to iAnywhere Solutions' m-Business platform, providing a one-stop source for mobile business technology."
Mail Anywhere Studio is a comprehensive platform for extending business e-mail, contact, calendar, and task information from Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange to mobile devices. Its new product features include:
* AutoSync - enables any Palm or Pocket PC-based device to automatically invoke synchronisation, removing the need for manual synchronisation.
* AutoDelivery - provides real-time e-mail access by automatically pushing business e-mail messages to always-on, always-listening wireless devices such as the Palm i705.
* Customisable Client Profiles - make it easy to handle multiple synchronisation options, controlling the amount and type of information that is synchronised based on connection method such as wireless public network, wireless LAN and wired network.
* Enhanced Attachment Support - the new Palm mail client provides ability to receive, view and forward attachments as well as accept meeting requests. Mobile workers can now use both Palm and Pocket PC-based devices to be as productive outside the office as they would be using desktop e-mail.
Also, as part of the features designed for IT administrators is a new security model, which provides true end-to-end encryption for data delivery inside and outside the firewall by integrating 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard technology (AES), securing personal information at all times. As an addition, a SQL Anywhere Studio Database for storing important user information, history and error data, which provides sophisticated reporting capabilities and the ability to trigger automatic alerts to administrators.
"The combination of m-Business Studio, Mail Anywhere Studio and experienced technology consultants enabled iAnywhere Solutions to deploy a pilot of its mobile agent automation solution in record time," says Engelbrecht. "The solution will provide mobile agents with a distinct competitive advantage by delivering time-sensitive alerts and corporate e-mail access from any location."
