IBM expands virtualisation scalability
IBM has upgraded its virtualisation technology, which now allows for over 1 000 virtual servers on a single mainframe.
EContent reports the z/VM release of the technology is designed to offer better memory support, which will decrease the need for multiple copies of the software. The new system will also support up to 32 processor units.
For Linux users, the software will make informed decisions about memory management, allowing for more virtual machines with the same amount of memory.
