Tarsus Technologies, a member of the JSE-listed MB Technologies group, has announced the IBM Infoprint 12, a lightweight, low-cost desktop laser printer with a small footprint.
"The Infoprint 12 is designed for business professionals who want superior performance, quality and reliability for desktop or small workgroup printing," says Ross Matthee, IBM business manager at Tarsus Technologies. "With its ability to switch automatically among print languages and interfaces, and to produce up to 1200dpi print quality, the Infoprint 12 excels at printing reports, spreadsheets, proposals and much more."
Robust, yet lightweight (a mere 11.4kg), the Infoprint 12 boasts an output speed of up to 12 pages per minute, and a 66MHz RISC processor.
"This makes it ideal for meeting the challenge of printing a wide variety of simple and complex business documents," says Matthee.
The printer`s input and output capacities accommodate lengthy documents and various media, including labels and transparencies. Additionally, a straight paper path helps optimise printing speed and reliability.
The versatile Infoprint 12 can be attached directly or networked, which allows growing companies to extend printer capabilities with minimal additional capital outlay. Because connectivity options are important in dynamic business environments, the printer includes USB and parallel interfaces, as well as optional Fast Ethernet.
The Infoprint 12 supports the most popular datastreams PCL6, PCL5e and PostScript 3 in a convenient, small footprint.
Other features of the Infoprint 12 include:
* Up to 20 000-page monthly print volume
* Variable media sizes - A4, A5, legal, letter, folio, executive, statement, postcard, envelope
* Fast Ethernet 10/100 Base TX
* Fast warm-up and first page out time - as fast as 14 seconds from Ready state4
* One-year warranty
