IBM unveils ECM software
IBM has revealed its latest enterprise content management (ECM) software is designed to manage information, reduce business processing time, cut costs and increase efficiency, reports ECM Connection.
The software includes a business process management offering with analytic capabilities and full-featured ECM starter packs.
Ken Bisconti, vice-president, products and strategy, IBM ECM, says: "By bundling a complete set of content-centric business process management tools into one offering, IBM has significantly improved the delivery of ECM capabilities.”
Gartner reveals ECM cost-savers
Gartner says the number of compromises an organisation will have to make to implement ECM is daunting, states ShootOnline.
Gartner adds ECM consists of a vision and framework for integrating a broad range of content management technologies and content formats across the organisation.
"ECM is expensive, which is why a low percentage of knowledge workers in an organisation have access to ECM," says Toby Bell, research vice-president at Gartner. "It's also too hard to justify the system for everyone based on unclear return on investment or other success measures."
Treeno integrates with Salesforce.com
Treeno Software has integrated its document and content management capabilities with Salesforce.com's suite of online customer relationship management products, says Manufacturing Business Technology.
The module, called Treeno Salesforce Connector, integrates with any Salesforce.com account and allows users to drag and drop e-mails and documents from their desktop directly into the account.
Treeno's content management solution enables paper document scanning and storing and tracking of all e-mails, contracts and correspondence. The module also can act as a search engine for projects and accounts managed under Salesforce.com.
