
Walking on Water TV (WOWtv) has applied for authorisation from the Independent Communications Authority of SA (ICASA) to air 19 video and eight radio channels, the majority of which will be broadcast in German.
ICASA issued a statement today inviting interested parties to lodge written representation regarding WOWtv's application within 14 working days of the date of publication of the notice, which was 22 June.
"In terms of the process, WOWtv shall be entitled to respond in writing to written representations made by interested persons on the application for authorisation of channels, and such written response must be lodged with [ICASA] within 14 working days of the closing date for the representations," explains the regulator.
WOWtv has applied for the following TV channels:
1. RTL TV (general entertainment, German)
2. RTL2 (general entertainment, German)
3. SAT 1 (general entertainment, German)
4. ProSieben (general entertainment, German)
5. Kabeleins (general entertainment, German)
6. Vox (general entertainment, German)
7. Puls 4 Austria (general entertainment, German)
8. ProSieben Maxx (general entertainment and documentary, German)
9. DW-TV 24-German (general entertainment, infotainment and news, German)
10. Sixx (general entertainment, German)
11. Super RTL (general entertainment and youth and children's programming, German)
12. Jukebox (music programming, German)
13. N-tv (news, infotainment and documentary, German)
14. Fox Sports (sports, English and French, later German)
15. EuroNews (news, German)
16. Auto Motor and Sports Channel (car sports, German)
17. Fix and Foxi TV (youth and children's programming, German)
18. N24 (news, infotainment and documentary, German)
19. Satelio info and event channel (self-information and event-based programming, German)
