IBM will be enabling a worldwide training partner positioned to market, sell and deliver IBM and systems training, as part of its global skills initiative.

ICT Worx has been appointed as the first IBM authorised training partner in SA under the new global model, which is aimed at accelerating the growth of skills and the adoption of IBM solutions in the global marketplace. The appointment is effective this month.

IBM's authorised training partners will deliver training to clients directly utilising original IBM-developed training materials.

Remarking on the appointment, ICT Worx MD Frans Sadie notes that ICT Worx is equipped to take on this approach to training the market on IBM technologies.

"We already have experience in the training arena and have been offering IBM training since 2006," he adds.

Together with its training partners, IBM looks to transform its training business into a new model of quality with key objectives including providing clients with training, deployment, management and support of IBM solutions, says IBM.

Additionally, IBM continues, it will focus on helping clients meet the challenges of business environments with a well-trained IT staff and skilled end-user community while making foundational-level learning material available to students through delivery mechanisms.
