Computer Associates International, Inc (CA) announced that an IDC research report ranks CA as the world`s leading provider of authentication, authorisation and administration (3A) security software with a 15.5% market share worldwide. This percentage makes CA the number one worldwide 3A security vendor by a wide margin.
This re-affirms CA`s continued leadership in the security marketplace. Earlier this year another IDC report, entitled Worldwide Internet Security Software Market Forecast and Analysis, 2001-2005, ranked CA as the world`s leading provider of Internet security software for the second year in a row.
This latest report, entitled Worldwide Security 3As Software Market Forecast and Analysis, 2001-2005, indicates that the 3A market remains a fast-growing market, with an expected growth of 27% over the next five years. It is expected to reach $9.4 billion by 2005.
According to IDC, security 3A software is made up of administration, authorisation and authentication, which is used to administer security on computer systems or in an enterprise and includes the processes of defining, creating, changing, deleting and auditing users.
