IDS Scheer achieves silver level certification for Capgemini's Integrated Architecture Framework

ARIS Platform supports Capgemini's advanced approach for Enterprise Architecture Management to fit customers' needs for better aligning business and IT
Saarbr"ucken, 29 Sep 2008

IDS Scheer, the leading provider of Business Process Management and Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) solutions, has been awarded the silver level certification for the support of Capgemini's Integrated Architecture Framework. Capgemini, one of the world's foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, has considered IDS Scheer's ARIS Platform to suit with the methodology of its architecture framework. This allows ARIS product portfolio to be used in Capgemini's EAM projects to better align customers' business and IT.

Most companies face the challenge to align their IT architecture with their business processes. For IT architecture to deliver true value, a comprehensive and holistic view is essential. It is necessary to connect all of the different types of architecture through a common framework and common vocabulary across the various communities of an organisation within the scope of EAM projects. That's why Capgemini has been developing its own architecture approach that covers business, information and technology since 1993. This approach, which is called the Integrated Architecture Framework (IAF), has been built on the experience of practicing architects on projects for clients worldwide.

IDS Scheer has been working with Capgemini since May 2007 in order to define how IAF could be supported by ARIS Platform, the world's leading product portfolio for business process analysis and enterprise architecture. For evaluating the interaction of the framework and ARIS, Capgemini has implemented the ARIS Platform in several customer projects in France and in the Netherlands.

After having been the first company worldwide to be preliminary certified, IDS Scheer has now been awarded the final certification on a silver level. No company has received a higher level of certification yet. From now on, Capgemini consultants can deploy the ARIS Platform in their projects. Consistent integration of all information in central ARIS Repository means that architecture elements can be reused across domain architectures: business, information, service, application and technology. This integrated tool support will drastically accelerate the deployment of the IAF in customer projects thereby delivering business value of Enterprise Architecture initiative faster and more efficiently.

"Capgemini helps clients dealing with changing business and supporting technology. So does IDS Scheer, who's ARIS Platform supports our Integrated Architecture Framework in a way that brings added value to our joint customers. They will be able to better align business and IT," states Bernard Huc, Certified Global Architect / Global Architects Community Leader at Capgemini.

"We are happy that Capgemini recognised the ability and value of our ARIS tools and methodology to complement their offerings. The silver level certification for the support of Capgemini's Integrated Architecture Framework is an important element in completing our offerings in the field of Enterprise Architecture Management. Our customers are able to enhance the value of the IT architecture thus improving their business performance", says Dr Wolfram Jost, Member of the Executive Board with responsibility for the worldwide Product Strategy and Development of IDS Scheer.
