IDS Scheer supports SAP NetWeaver `04

Johannesburg, 26 Mar 2004

IDS Scheer announced this month its plans to support SAP NetWeaver `04 and is presenting at CeBIT 2004 a preview of its new product, ARIS for SAP NetWeaver, to be released to customers by mid-2004. This sets the first milestone for the benefit of the joint customer base of the strategic partnership between SAP and IDS, which was announced in October 2003.

In October 2003 IDS Scheer announced strategic co-development plans to integrate IDS Scheer`s ARIS Process Platform with SAP NetWeaver, SAP`s open integration and application platform. The goal of these plans was to create a comprehensive business process management solution (BPM) to help IT organisations become enablers of change. The product will support the entire process lifecycle leading to an extended BPM solution allowing the customer to optimise the business processes based on analysis, design, implementation, execution, monitoring and controlling of business processes.

SAP NetWeaver `04 powers ready-to-go, innovative industry specific software products, from SAP and partners. In turn, customers benefit with increased flexibility for implementing new business strategies, while reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) across heterogeneous system landscapes. ARIS for SAP NetWeaver is a solution for designing and architecturing business process models tailored for and integrated with SAP NetWeaver process configuration and execution models.

"The novelty of our co-development is in coherence of the BPM approach," explains Dr Wolfram Jost, board member IDS Scheer AG. "It is that coherence that reduces tremendously the time span from a first idea of a process until the process oriented implementation, and that is exactly what our customers need."
