IFS SA expands telco footprint in Africa through partnership with Dovetel Tanzania, BroadBand Company Uganda

Johannesburg, 17 Feb 2009

IFS, a global enterprise applications company, announced today that Dovetel has signed a contract to implement IFS applications at its Dar es Salaam headquarters, so as to develop products and services to fill gaps in the Tanzanian and Ugandan telecoms market, ultimately increase competition, drive down end-user tariffs in the respective countries and pave the way for a competitive edge in the region.

IFS was chosen for its extensive experience in the telecom industry and the high flexibility of its system solution, which matches the requirements of a new player like Dovetel.

IFS prioritises the telecom and utilities markets and has more than 150 customers involved in the industry. IFS Applications supports planning and forecasting, improves efficiency and control in day-to-day operations and integrates project, asset and facilities management with contract management, workforce management, supply chain management and business intelligence.

Customers include telecom operators and network construction and maintenance providers such as NetCom (Norway), Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan), Telsul (Brazil), Eltel Networks (Nordic and Baltic), MTN (Nigeria and South Africa) and Teracom (Sweden).
