IHD upgrades with Artec

Johannesburg, 26 Jan 2004

Artec Computer Systems today announced that IHD, the largest pharmaceutical distributor in SA, has engaged the company to assist with the planning and implementation roll-out of the upgrading of its servers from Microsoft NT 4 to Microsoft Server 2000 and its mail software from 5.5 to Exchange 2000. IHD has a national network that embraces 500 users.

"We chose Artec to undertake this project for us as they are a Microsoft Gold Partner and one of the top Microsoft certified companies in SA," commented Carine van Zyl of IHD.

"This is important for us from a future perspective since we need to work with a company that can provide appropriate guidance on Microsoft technologies and products that we may wish to utilise. This project is now complete but we will be embarking upon other new and exciting developments over the coming months."

"We are currently undertaking many Microsoft Server 2000 and 2003 installations/upgrades across the country," added Andrew Tucker, CEO of Artec Computer Systems. "The investment we made in this latter regard in having our staff trained directly by Microsoft has more than proved worthwhile, and additionally, has strengthened our already very strong relationship with them. Obtaining Gold Partner status is now the cherry on the top."
