Imation boosts SME storage platform

Imation has introduced a solution based on the industry-standard RDX storage platform designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) store, protect and connect their critical business , says Insurance Networking News.

The RDX system is designed specifically to help SMEs provide storage and backup, protect via disaster recovery and business continuity, and enable cloud storage.

Imation says the RDX system combines the best of hard disk with the backup and portability benefits of tape, all in a removable cartridge, offering the RDX docking station with USB and SATA connections, cartridges available in 160GB, 320GB, 500GB, 640GB, 750GB and 1TB capacities, and Retrospect software featuring government-certified 256-bit AES encryption.

Omnitech buys Avensus Netherland

Omnitech Infosolutions, a business availability and business continuity services provider, has bought Avensus Netherland BV for $9 million, reports Business Standard.

The company says it will be paying $4.8 million as an upfront payment and the rest will be a deferred payment and earn out, which shall be paid over a period of 3 years.

Through this deal, Omnitech will get over 100 clients of Avensus and the synergy generated between the two companies will help Omnitech to gain new customers by leveraging its global delivery model.

Etisalat secures Managed WAN sites

Etisalat has revealed that it has deals for more than 1 000 Managed WAN sites, primarily from and financial institution customers, states AME Info.

The accelerated momentum showcases a rapid adoption of the Managed WAN service across the UAE. Etisalat had earlier introduced a ground breaking Managed WAN deal with Emirates NBD, during GITEX.

The Managed WAN orders have been placed by majority of premier banks in the UAE. Etisalat will provide these banks with a one-stop solution for links, routers and onsite support through its Managed WAN service.
