Incredible Connection has unveiled a trade-in and recycling initiative at all its stores.
Using Swapkit software, second-hand mobile phones, iPads, iPods and selected Samsung tablets will be evaluated and customers will receive a voucher to use towards their next purchase.
Swapkit not only evaluates the worth of the item being traded in, it also checks whether it is stolen or counterfeit using global verification site CheckMEND, which has relationships with data providers around the world, including police, retailers, cellphone networks and recyclers. All checks are done in less than five minutes, according to the retailer.
The second-hand goods will be refreshed for use in other countries, according to Incredible Connection's acting CEO, Stefan Marnewick.
The company adds that there is no limit to the value of the swap or voucher that one can receive - it is all dependent on the grading of the handset or device by the teams in store, with the use of Swapkit.
There is also no shelf life on the phones, tablets, iPods and iPads that may be traded; however, the age and grading of the device will affect the trade-in price, according to Incredible Connection.
Swapkit is distributed via SA telecommunications distributor Pure Distribution.
