Infosys study reveals changing roles

Infosys has released the findings from new research that shows the role of enterprise architecture (EA) is experiencing some changes, reports EquityBulls.

The research shows that companies are starting to use EA to implement business strategies and govern the interaction of business units and to create value for all stakeholders.

"The role of enterprise architecture is changing. When it started off it was simply an IT-centric function, whereas today it aims to align IT with business," said Sohel Aziz, AVP and head of strategic technology and architecture consulting, EMEA at Infosys.

Sun rises in Forrester evaluation

A report by Forrester Research says that Sun Microsystems has improved its standing in this year's evaluation of applications servers for -oriented architecture and business process management, says WebServices.

According to the Forrester evaluation, Sun, with its acquisition of SeeBeyond, is moving up and catching IBM and BEA Systems.

Sun's platform grew with its acquisition of SeeBeyond, and the company has spent a year integrating those products with its Java Enterprise System modules.

Wipro creates growth roadmap

Wipro Technologies has unveiled its SAP growth map and has identified three main areas of focus - enterprise services-oriented architecture, and the Indian mid-market, reports NEWSPost India.

Wipro will also enlarge its existing SAP portfolio in the utilities industry, SCM and CRM domains. The strategy will enable Wipro to strengthen its technology solution areas.

Wipro has been included in SAP's list of 15 global services partners.
