Macintosh company Intego announced a partnership with storage solutions vendor, LaCie, to provide storage solutions.

"We are delighted to have an opportunity to provide our backup solutions to LaCie's customers. LaCie has the most innovative line of storage products, combining cutting-edge design with world-class technology," said Intego CEO Laurent Marteau.

LaCie will help ensure Mac users are protected from data loss with the introduction of two programs from Intego's Personal Backup X5 range, the Backup Assistant and Backup Manager Pro, says Marteau.

Both programs are backup solutions for Mac systems and offer protection from data loss by making copies of their documents, applications and system files, adds Marteau. The Backup Assistant will back up files to LaCie hard disks and network storage devices while the Backup Manager Pro will back up files to hard disks and network storage devices, make backups to any hard drive network volume, iDisk, optical disk and synchronise data between two computers.

"We want to provide our customers with the leading backup technology for Macintosh," said Phillipe Spruch, CEO of LaCie. "We liked Intego Personal Backup X5 so much that we asked Intego to make two special versions of the software that we can offer to our customers."
