Mpostol Jeremia Mashinini, an executive director on the management board at Integr8 IT, was selected as the Top ICT Business Man in Africa at the 2006 African ICT Achievers Awards.
Mashinini was appointed to the Integr8 IT board of directors in 2005 when the network integration and infrastructure management company secured its BEE deal.
The partnership was established to address what Mashinini described as "challenges to the country in terms of its ICT capability, such as the availability of resources and skills."
The African ICT Achievers Awards is one of several events organised and presented by ICT research and consulting house, ForgeAhead.
Its Top ICT Business Man in Africa award, complimenting the Top ICT Business Woman in Africa counterpart category, has been established to identify and recognise significant individual contribution to the sector.
Upon completion of his studies within the ICT field in the former Kwandebele, Mashinini set up a training school to narrow the gap between rural communities and technology infrastructure.
He was also among the first government IT officers that helped lay the foundation for improved service for state organs. Mashinini has lectured at Wits Business School and the former Technikon Pretoria (now Tshwane University of Technology) and has his Masters Degree.
Mashinini considers the accolade of Top ICT Business Man in Africa for 2006 as a major achievement.

Sussman was selected based on significant contribution and innovative technological brilliance towards the growth and development of Integr8 IT and ICT, within SA and Africa.
In 2004 Integr8 IT found itself among the front-runners of the competition when it secured representation as a finalist in three categories, and became the only company on the continent to do so.
