Integr8 IT, a local network integration and infrastructure management specialist, has completed the roll-out of Computer Associate technology as part of a disaster recovery project initiated by the Botswana Export Development Investment Authority (BEDIA).
The South African ICT company assisted the Export Authority with the deployment of CA Brightstor High Availability solution for the provision of comprehensive, application-based failover across five servers.
This resulted in fault tolerance and server failover across a WAN link to the BEDIA disaster recovery site located 10km away from the organisation`s head office.
"The work done thus far has elevated the client onto a higher level of network redundancy and provided it with the benefit of an available disaster recover and business continuity solution," comments Neo Nwako, Integr8 IT Botswana manager.
According to Nwako the company`s ongoing project with its client reinforces its presence in what is described as being an increasingly competitive market.
"There is a strong requirement for systems integration in the region. Most organisations, institutions, small to medium enterprises and corporations are challenged with centrally managing and deriving optimal benefits on the technologies they have implemented," adds Nwako.
Integr8 IT Botswana has been earmarked for development as the host-base for the establishment of an Africa nerve centre. This will represent a credible, effective gateway for the rest of the continent.
"System integrators and managed services are sought after in this market. For the most part managers are faced with the challenge of always having to thumb-suck the status of their environment. There are huge requirements for network and system management tools. Most of the solution-related enquiries we receive from clients are based on storage, continuous availability of resource, AD Migration, Mail Archiving, 2003 Server and Exchange upgrades," Nwako continues.
Referring to Integr8 IT`s general presence in the market Nwako says the company`s partnership with the Export Authority is exceptionally valuable and offers them a firm foundation from which to develop further business and trade opportunities in the region.
