The first seminar was hosted on 28 November followed by another, on invitation by Bodibeng Technology Incubator, at Waterfall Office Park in Midrand. The latest seminar was hosted on 14 February and others will follow on 14 March, 18 April and 23 May. The industry`s response has been so positive that Norman Parkin, CEO of Integrat, is considering continually providing the service to the industry, but a small cost might be levied in future.
These seminars show companies how to use mobile technology to their advantage. Mobile technology is the cheapest way per customer to communicate with the market.
Mobile technology can be used to entertain in a variety of ways: pictures, text, videos and mobile TV, to name but a few possibilities. Mobile technology, as a direct communication tool, can add value to current services in any way imaginable. Business application integration, entertainment, location-based services, bulk marketing and competitions are but a few ways in which companies are improving efficiencies, creating revenue and opportunities for themselves.
These seminars use mobile to teach mobile. Cellphone applications are physically demonstrated, followed by question and answer sessions. All the different types of bearers (eg SMS, MMS, IVR, LBS and USSD) and their applications are discussed by experts in the field. Even companies that are currently playing in the mobile environment should also take note of this seminar. The speaker, Norman Parkin, is an expert on the future and historic development of the mobile environment.
