Intel accused of cartel agreement
Intel may face charges in Europe after allegedly signing an exclusive selling agreement with Germany`s Media-Saturn-Holding, whereby the latter supposedly received millions in exchange for not selling AMD products.
This is according to X-Bit Labs, which says a newspaper claims it had seen proofs of the cartel agreement.
According to the European Union trust right, a dominating manufacturer such as Intel may not have exclusive selling partners.
Primergy servers get new chips
As Intel prepares to unveil Woodcrest, its next-generation server chip based on the company`s new core micro-architecture, major manufacturers are prepping systems containing the new chip, writes ServerWatch.
Fujitsu, for instance, has announced five new Primergy dual-socket servers: the RX200 S3 and RX300 S3 rack servers, the TX200 S3 and TX300 S3 tower servers, and the BX620 S3 blade server.
Richard McCormack, senior VP of marketing at Fujitsu Computer Systems, describes the new servers as a refresh to the Primergy line with relatively simple changes.
