Intel, Best Buy partner

Intel has taken its solid-state disc (SSD) technology to chain Best Buy and BestBuy.com, states Channel Insider.

The SSD is being marketed to new PC purchases as well as users looking to upgrade their existing computers.

The SSD drives will be available in the US to 800 Best Buy stores and via the retail marketer's online portal, BestBuy.com.

Acer unveils Predator gaming desktop

Acer has unveiled a fixed hardware configuration system with the Predator gaming desktop, writes CNET News.

The desktop includes a 2.8GHz Core i7 930 CPU, Nvidia GeForce GTX 470 graphics card, and support for two additional 3D cards. It includes 12GB of 1 333MHz DDR3 RAM, a 1.5TB hard disc.

According to CNET, it checked other PC suppliers to the gaming market and determined the Predator has no competition among suppliers of similar configurations at the $2 000 mark.

Compulocks releases XTrap laptop lock

Compulocks, a manufacturer of computer locking solutions, has released the CL14T-Xtrap laptop lock/desktop slot lock, states PR-USA.

The lock features the XTrap feature, enabling the security of peripherals such as the mouse, keyboard and charger.

Founder and CEO of the Compulocks Group, Gad Alexander, says: “CL14T-XTrap is one-of-its-kind laptop lock/desktop security slot with its ultra small head and light construction design is barely visible to a stranger and the high-quality steel cable ensures utmost security.”
