Intel buys stake in medical tech
Intel Capital acquired a $7.3 million stake in German medical technology developer BrainLab, reports RedHerring news.
The funding should help the Munich-based company provide additional software and hardware so it can develop technology to aid in minimally invasive medical procedures such as image-guided surgery and radiotherapy.
Electronic manufacturers keen on medical, health field
Electronics manufacturers are beginning to show keen interest in the medical and health field, reports Neasia news.

Three more interoperability specifications for AHIC
The Healthcare IT Standards Panel (HITSP) - a multi-stakeholder group facilitating the development of interoperable healthcare data standards for the US - has recently recommended three interoperability specifications to the American Health Information Community (AHIC), reports Biz yahoo.
The recommendations are in the areas of electronic health records, bio-surveillance, and consumer empowerment.
The AHIC has commended the work of the HITSP members. It has further recommended the interoperability specifications to Department of Health and Human Services secretary Michael Leavitt.
